You can check this for yourself by typing EGR valve explosion into google and following the misery trail from there. Top critical review. September 28, I installed 6 of these in my '03 Escape in July of I was lured to these due to the price, all 6 of them for the same price as 1 of the name brand units. However, in September of it suddenly began misfiring again. As a matter of fact it was misfiring much worse that the first time when I replaced them. I checked the code, cylinder 3 of course a cylinder in the back of the engine which is difficult to get to.
This time i replaced all 3 of them in the rear of the engine cylinders with Duralast coils from Auto Zone. I wanted to replace them in the rear cylinders as they are very difficult to get to. The front cylinders are very easy to replace. I'll use these cheaper ones on those cylinders when they fail.
My conclusion on recommending these: If you do not plan on keeping your vehicle no longer than months than these are fine. However, if you plan on keeping your vehicle longer than that then I would recommend getting something more durable; at least for the rear cylinders. These would be fine for the front cylinders as they are easily replaced. Don't get me wrong, I knew these coils would not last years on end when I replaced them last year; I've been waiting for them to fail so my expectations were not excessive.
However, looking back I wish I had replaced the rear cylinders with something more durable. Sort by. Top rated Most recent Top rated. Filter by. These coils perform well for the price point. I purchased in Dec of and just yesterday had one go bad cylinder 3, P and P codes. These have appx 25k on them and have performed well. Not fun removing the intake manifold to get to cylinders 1,2 and 3 but is not too difficult less than 1 hour start to finish second time around. So 3 years of service on these ignition coils is acceptable for me.
Unfortunately on the 3. I did plugs and wires first time around but just popped in a good coil from this kit I reused a couple original so as to have one on hand. My 07 Escape was experiencing a cylinder 2 misfire. I ordered these and took them to the garage. The mechanic replaced all of my spark plugs and coils.
It runs fantastic now, better than when I bought it two years ago. If a coil goes bad, it's time to check them all. Change the gaskets, too. I replaced the fuel filter and air filter and finally found the location of the cabin filter. I saved the replaced coils, to have on hand. These supposedly have a Lifetime Warranty. These did the job for a while. They are cheap and work perfectly.
That is the good. The bad: they didn't last long. What I was unaware of is that on the Ford 3. That is a huge pain and it's not cheap. Bought for Ford Escape 3. Figured that, for this crazy low Conclusion - Various - A Tribute To Much The Sameeven if it didn't solve my problem, it was worth the try. Replacing the front Panda II - Peelander-Z - Dancing Friendly was the easiest thing you could do, and it fixed my problem!
Replacing the back three was more complicated but I wanted to install the whole set. Took about an hour with just a socket set and a flathead screwdriver. Couldn't be happier with the performance so far. Feels like a new vehicle and I saved myself hundreds by doing it myself. My 6-cyl Mazda Tribute has never ran smooth These coils work beautifully! My 6-cyl Mazda Tribute has never ran smooth in the three years since i bought it at an auction. Then i stumbled on these coils on Amazon.
What a steal for the price! You actually get 6 coils from this seller for less than the price of one coil from the parts store. The coils work! Im still in shock that these things make my truck run smooth and beautiful for the first time since I bought it at the auction.

One person found this helpful. I was skeptical at first like most people as this coil set is half Conclusion - Various - A Tribute To Much The Same price of a single coil from CarQuest or Autozone, but they work perfect.
